The main duties to be performed by the successful candidate will be:
• Contribute to the mechanical design and development of various aerospace systems and components.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure the successful realization of various aerospace
projects.
• Designing & developing various parts and assemblies in CAD.
• Produce various parts & assembly technical drawings.
• Produce reliable and consistent CAD work that makes use of various internal and global standards.
• Practice proper configuration and control of CAD data & manage various aspects of this using PDM
(Product Data Management) & PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
• Carry out quality control functions to ensure various parts and assemblies are made within
specifications.
• Hands-on assistance with integration and assembly of various R&D (research and development)
activities.

Execution of the duties and responsibilities pertaining to the position demands the following experience, skills and knowledge:
• Relevant training/education as a mechanical designer.
• Expert experience and knowledge of SolidWorks.
• At least 5 years of experience in precision machine design and / or Aerospace.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and practices.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and works well within a collaborative team.
In additional to the above, the following will be advantageous:
• Practical experience and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• SolidWorks PDM experience.
• Experience or exposure to product lifecycle management.
• Experience or exposure to CAD office environment.
